Scandi Standard achieves improved CDP-rating

PRESS RELEASE, 8 February 2024

Scandi Standard, the leading poultry producer in the Nordic region and Ireland, is pleased to announce progress in the annual rating by the global environmental non-profit organisation CDP, to A- (from a B-rating in 2022) in the climate change category, and an unchanged B-rating in the forest category. The rating by CDP is an important proof point of Scandi Standard's dedicated sustainability work, and is also recognised among Scandi Standard's customers and investors.

CDP is a not-for-profit organisation that runs a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. A CDP score provides a snapshot of a company's disclosure and environmental performance. Environmental stewardship is analysed on a scale from -D to A. To earn an A score from CDP, organizations must show environmental leadership, disclosing action on climate change, deforestation or water security.

"This is an important milestone for Scandi Standard, highlighting our efforts in resource-efficient chicken production with low climate impact throughout the entire value chain. The climate is one of the most critical matters of our time, and we need to help to reduce emissions, and to identify and manage the risks resulting from climate change. At the same time, we regard the increased efforts to reduce society's climate impact as an opportunity where chicken can be part of the solution.", says Ida Ljungkvist, Group Sustainability Director, Scandi Standard.

"The integration of sustainability into both strategy and operations remains a priority focus area, and I am proud that our systematic sustainability initiatives are receiving increasing external recognition. Scandi Standard has a clear ambition to be a leader within the sustainability area in the global chicken industry, and our size in local markets means that we can make a real difference for people, chickens and our planet. I'm convinced that our systematic efforts to continuously improve are a competitive advantage.", says Jonas Tunestål, CEO, Scandi Standard.
